The IFA Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training is an advanced qualification for practicing and aspiring personal trainers, who have successfully completed the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction. Throughout the four weeks of teaching, learners will get the chance to build on their prior experience and deepen their understanding of the vital components of fitness, anatomy and physiology, and functional kinesiology. This qualification will enable you to conduct unsupervised fitness instruction including one-on-one training, baseline assessments, nutritional advice and progressive programing that is tailor-made to individual client needs.

Who is the course for?

Prior to enrolling in the IFA Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training, learners must have completed the necessary pre-requisite education in Level 2 Fitness Instruction either at IFA or an equivalent institution. Note that the course requires physical activity and individual participation, thus a degree of physical fitness is required. You will also need to engage in elements of communication (discussion, presentation, reading, and writing) that require an adequate level of English language skills, as well as basic computation/numeric skills.

Course Format and Assessment

This course is available to students in the form of mixed classes or ladies only classes. Furthermore, the course can be attended virtually from home through Zoom except for some practical days. Ask us about these options when you get in contact with us.

To attain the IFA Level 3 Personal Trainer Certificate, the student must:
• Score a minimum of 70% in both written theory-exams
• Pass a practical examination
• Complete a Learner Assessment Record

Unit 3: Training Programing

takes learners through the concepts and application of effective Personal Training sessions that are adjusted to client goals, including the design of micro, meso, and macro-training cycles.

Unit 4: Leading PT Sessions

forms the cornerstone of a Personal Trainer’s professional practice. Gain the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare, instruct, and supervise a safe and effective 1-on-1 gym-based exercise program – based on your client’s goals and abilities.

Unit 5: Business Acumen and the Use of Information Technology for a Personal Trainer

is about the use of IT systems in a PT Business, Business Planning & Development, using technology to track client progress, exercise programs and manage clients, how to monitor, interpret and present client data, etc.
